Druk Path Trekking

This is a short trek, which leads from Paro to Thimphu,
or vice-versa, crossing the chain of mountains that
separates the two valleys which leads from Thimpu to
Paro, or vice versa, crossing the chain of mountains
that separates the two valleys. Although there is little
settlement on this route, there are wonderful lakes
teeming with fish and the area is famous for its spectacular
rhododendron forests, which bloom in May. In the clear
weather of late autumn and winter where are views across
to the Himalayas. Although there are very few houses
to see, there are wonderful lakes teeming with fish
at 4000 meters (13,000 feet) and spectacular rhododendron
forest that bloom in the month of May. In winter and
in clear weather, there is a magnificent view over the
high Himalayas.
Season: March - April - May - September
- October & November
Climate: Days are normally warm. Nights
at times can be very cool and in winters are even below
freezing point
What to Bring:
Personal Clothing Strong normal clothing
(according to season). Preferably Cotton for summer
and woolen for evening and winter
For Trekking: Good walking boots, sunglasses,
rain gear, sun block cream, water Bottle, rug sack,
torchlight and a medium to heavy sleeping bag.
