Bumpthang Cultural Trek

This trek provides unique experience to the trekkers. It is an easy and moderate trek. The best season to make this trek is March, April, May, September, October and November. This short trek is ideal for average walkers as the altitude does not go over 3,400 meters. The trek crosses several villages and crosses through the picturesque countryside of Bumpthang, giving an exceptional opportunity to be in touch with rural life. The four valleys of Bumthang, is revered by the Bhutanese as the sacred land of Bhutan with many important Nyingmapa saints coming from here including the famous Pema Lingpa.


Bumtang Cultural Trek

Day 01 Arrive Paro, Bhutan by Druk Air flight from Delhi, Kathmandu, Bangkok or Calcutta.
02 Full day Paro Valley sightseeing, -Thimpu
03 Paro - Thimpu
04 Thimpu - Sightseeing
05 Thimphu - Trongsa
06 Trongsa - Bumthang
07 Bumtang - Halt
08 Bumtang - Nganglhakhang (Trek Begins)
09 Ngangljakhang - Ugyencholing
10 Ugyencholing - Bumtang
11 Bumtang - Punakha
12 Punakha - Thimpu
13 Thimphu - Paro for Departure
Season March - May & October - Novemeber.
Climate Days are normally warm and nights can at times be very cold and in winter below freezing point
What to Bring Warm woolen clothing, good walking boots, sun glass, sun block cream, head gear, rain gear, water bottle, rug sack, sleeping bag (medium to heavy)

Visiting Bhutan
